On the trail of nature
For our Getzoo colour mouse food, we have taken our cue from nature's extensive diet: Numerous seeds from native grasses, cereals from cultivated fields, vegetables from the farm garden, as well as flowers, leaves and herbs from wild meadows. For the protein balance, worms and maggots round off the menu. Thus we can guarantee a balanced and healthy diet for our fosterlings.
With nature as a model
Colour mice are descended from the Central European small brown house mouse, but were unintentionally spread all over the world. As their name suggests, they often live close to humans in/around the house and yard. In nature they live on fertile farmland or in steppes, the mouse is very adaptable and an omnivore.
It's all in the mix!
In nature, mice feed mainly on seeds, grains and vegetables, but only a few other plant parts and insects. Coloured mice are omnivores and find numerous edible treats around their nests. Therefore, it is particularly important for us to offer a food with numerous ingredients in order to come close to nature's extensive diet. With 47 different ingredients, you don't get the same amount of each ingredient in the bowl every day and you are left with an exciting, varied diet day after day.
Local ingredients
Ingredients from the original habitat of the colour mouse were particularly important to us. That's why Getzoo colour mouse food contains local ingredients, such as floury seeds from German ryegrass and other grasses, as well as original cereals that have not been overbred. Vegetables with a long cultivation history in Central Europe such as carrots and beetroot, numerous oil seeds such as rosehip and raspberry seeds, wild herbs such as stinging nettle or ribwort and leaves from native nut trees or berry plants.
