Healthy nutrition like in nature

For our Getzoo Goldhamster Basic Food we have orientated ourselves on the extensive diet of nature. Only seeds and plant parts that occur in the natural habitat or are similar to the flora in the steppes were selected.

With nature as a model

Golden hamsters live in the steppes, but also in fertile cultivated areas of Syria. The landscape is dominated by grasses and bushes, but also by fertile farmland with cereals, vegetables and fruits.

Seeds, flowers and herbs

In the wild, golden hamsters feed mainly on cereals and other floury seeds from various grasses. For a healthy diet with a view to the history of the Syrian golden hamster, we have chosen, among others, ancient grains such as einkorn and emmer. In addition to cereals, the Getzoo Goldhamster Basic Food is based on numerous grass seeds and millet varieties.

A light food

The Getzoo Goldhamster Basic Food has been adapted at the request of many gold hamster keepers. This food is especially suitable for golden hamsters that tend to be overweight or that should receive a lot of adventure food or treats for the bond between humans and animals in addition to the main food.

Without protein - please feed separately!

For golden hamsters a well-balanced protein balance in the diet is essential to have enough energy. We have deliberately left out protein in the Getzoo Goldhamster Basic Food so that the owner can feed insects individually as required.
