Ramps & bridges for rodents - Versatile paths & hiding places
Hazelnut bridges, willow bridges and ramps are essential components of a varied rodent enclosure. They enable safe transitions between levels, facilitate access to sand baths, running wheels or hiding places and at the same time offer opportunities for activity.
Thanks to their flexible design, hazelnut bridges can be used not only as transitions, but also as caves, tunnels or room dividers. They help to structure different enclosure areas, while the robust wooden materials provide natural nibbling fun for your pet.
Our ramps & bridges are available in different sizes to suit hamsters, mice, rabbits & guinea pigs. Sturdy metal bars provide support, while the natural wood finish enhances the look of the enclosure and provides a species-appropriate environment.

Rodent bridges can, as the name suggests, be used as bridges. However, the benefits do not end there. They can also be used as partitions, hiding places, levels and runs. They create another level for the rodents and can also be gnawed on to wear down their teeth.
Hazelnut bridges for hamsters
Rodent bridges are very popular in hamster keeping and are often used in many different ways. For example, as a partition from the sand bath or a sand area in the enclosure. Or as a privacy screen to make the little hamster feel even safer. The hazelnut bridges for hamsters can also be used as a hiding place or as a tube, as the Getzoo hazelnut bridges are very easy to bend into shape. They keep their shape perfectly and can be reshaped as often as you like.
Combine the bridge with adventure food
Adventure food such as millet or flat ears are perfect for inserting between the small cavities. This works particularly well when the hazelnut bridge is used as a partition. In the case of bridges that form a walkway, the adventure food should not block the path.
Check the connecting pieces regularly
Rodents are sure to tamper with them, so the connecting pieces can become loose over time. As soon as metal pins protrude, the bridge must be replaced so that there is no risk of injury in the first place.

Tips for the use of hazelnut bridges and rodent bridges
- The hazelnut bridges and rodent bridges should be used with smaller rodents if necessary. stuffed with moss so that the small gaps are not dangerous for the rodents' paws.
- Hazelnut bridges and rodent bridges can easily be baked in the oven at 100 degrees for one hour
- Find the right rodent bridge for your rodent - please refer to the article description, we have the right rodent bridge for every animal
Theoretically, you could of course also bend a tunnel, the metal pins would allow this if they were the right size. However, which variant you choose should depend on your pet's preferences. Is it more of an explorer and adventurer or someone who likes to hide and build a nest?
If you are purely interested in a flexible climbing option, then you should bend it into a bridge.
Branches and tunnels are also great for rodents to climb extensively. However, you must ensure that the branches are not placed directly next to areas where the rodent could fall off the bridge. This minimises the risk of injury.
You can set up the bridge as follows:
- A suspension bridge should connect two important points, for example the exit of a house with the floor on which the running wheel is located.
- The normal-shaped bridge is best placed where there are no other objects. It takes up a lot of space.
This is the bow that you create as soon as the bridge is bent.
The distance between the bridge bridge and the floor should never be greater than 20 cm. If the rodent falls off the bridge, the risk of injury is minimised.
It is not a must, but it does provide preventative protection against mites and other vermin whose eggs cannot be seen with the naked eye. Unfortunately, despite the greatest care, it is not always 100% possible to avoid insects getting onto the branches from time to time. The high temperatures during baking kill them directly so that they do not hatch in the first place.
We have a few ideas! As a ladder (between the enclosure levels, access to the sand bath etc.), as a partition between different enclosure areas (e.g. separating sand from litter), as a cave and tunnel to hide in or as natural nibbling fun.
