For rodents, sand is essential for grooming and some rodents are also simply at home in the desert and therefore need a large area in the enclosure which consists entirely of sand. Getzoo Bathing sand
The Getzoo bathing sand consists of high-quality sepiolite sand and is particularly fine-grained and definitely does not cause any injuries. We do not use any additives; the bathing sand consists of pure sepiolite sand. For rodents, bathing sand is indispensable for coat and nail care. During coat care, old skin flakes, dirt and grease are removed and the coat shines beautifully again. The velvety texture and light colour of our bath sand impresses many customers.
The Getzoo bathing sand should be available to rodents in sand baths or a separate area and can of course also be used as toilet sand. This should be changed 2-3 times a week.

- Chinchilla sand is best suited for sand bathsas it is usually made from fine quartz and is round. This means it has no sharp edges.
- The sand is considered low-dust and is therefore also suitable for allergy sufferers. Nevertheless, it is best to wear a respirator mask when cleaning.
- Conventional play sand or bird sand must be kept away from the sand bath for rodents. This harbours a high risk of injury due to sharp-edged pellets!
Cork granules for rodents
Our range also includes cork granules. Here you have the choice between 10 litres of fine cork granules which are 1 - 2 mm in size or medium cork granules which are between 3 - 8 mm. The cork granules are ideal for all types of rodents such as chinchillas, degus, coloured mice, golden hamsters, guinea pigs and so on. It can be used for decorating, for handicrafts or as a digging box by hiding food in it, so the rodent has more to do and also has something to do. The cork granules are absolutely non-toxic for rodents and have no added binding agents or other foreign substances. The cork is sustainably grown and processed in Portugal and is sorted and packed in a workshop for the disabled (in Germany)
